The city of Needles sprawls across the plains here, digging in its heels against the endless assault of the desert plains. The blazing sun beats down on ratty, ramshackle buildings which stand in direct conflict with the laws of physics. Why the entire place hasn't collapsed into a pile of rubble is anyone's guess.
