A spear is a pole weapon comprised of a sharpened head mounted on a shaft. Occasionally, the head may simply be the top of the shaft sharpened.

This skill covers melee combat with a spear-type weapon. If you use a spear as a ranged weapon, it comes under the Thrown Weapon skill. Increasing the Spear skill raises the chance to hit an enemy whilst wielding a spear-type weapon. At a moderate level, the special move impale becomes available.
